Julian and Oliver's bedroom(s)

So...I've mentioned there being some upcoming changes on the horizon. Until things are set in stone I'm going to be reserved in my announcements. My day-dreaming on the other hand has a tendency to take the form of a plan and I just have to share. It is possible that our boys will each have their own rooms. I will likely move them in together once Oliver is old enough to play with J and vice versa...until then the idea of personalizing their spaces was too exciting to pass up. I spent some time at Sarah's Fabrics today and found some affordable items to come up with plans for each boy's (potential) rooms. I'll add some explanation to my collages but I wanted to share a sneak peak at my further room ideas.
First: Julian's Room
Julian is a boy's boy but still has a sense of luxery (the kid has spent a lot of time with his Mom :) ). He might be the only 3 almost 4 year old boy who notices when I paint my finger nails but still would do anything to wrestle with Daddy. He has a sufari t-shirt that he loves to wear and is a big animal lover. He keeps asking when we can go on a safari?! Therefore I'm running with the idea. We are painting his bed green and doing a dark brown upholstered section on the head-board. I have green striped curtains I'm using in both spaces and will sew a foot size section of a darker fabric to the bottom to give it some weight and balance. I found these amazing fabrics today...and have supplemented it with some cool safari-like lanterns. A nod to his learning about letters and to read, a yellow sky chair to rock in, and a canopy to cover the bed...it's going to be a fabulous, fun, and boy friendly space!

For Ollie's Room: I'm sticking to natural and open. Lot of birds, owls, plants, whimsical features in browns, neautrals, and soft greens...supplementing it with some orange. Sweet dreams to our future nature-lover (I'm sure of it).
